Designing a JB Bespoke Kitchen

If you are at the start of your kitchen journey and have been exploring the different types of styles, you will have come across the term ‘bespoke’. Some think it refers to choosing materials, colours and cabinets, but a truly bespoke kitchen means all your needs and requirements are considered. Cabinets and furniture are designed, created from scratch and made to order, with customisable sizes, dimensions and fully tailored storage options crafted to fit your space exactly. In this blog, we introduce our exclusive JB Bespoke collection and delve into some of the key benefits of investing in a kitchen crafted for you and your lifestyle.

What is JB Bespoke?

Our JB Bespoke range is handmade in the UK and combines CNC technology and superior craftsmanship, so that you can explore endless design possibilities when it comes to breathing new life into your home.

Why Choose Bespoke?

With a store-bought kitchen, there will be a certain number of colours, styles and modifications available in each design, limiting your space to what’s on offer. Our customised approach enables you to design the kitchen of your dreams, made to the highest possible standard. With the flexibility to mold your new space in anyway you wish, a JB Bespoke kitchen guarantees a design you won’t see anywhere else.

Bespoke cabinetry allows us to create your kitchen with complete freedom and creativity, without a modular unit in sight. With no constraints, every aspect of your kitchen is customised to your space and meets your specific needs.

Working alongside our experts to create breathtakingly unique designs, our clients in Northiam have opted for our JB bespoke range to develop this stunning space.

Recognised for exceptional design, this award-winning JB Bespoke kitchen is a perfect example of the possibilities available within our exclusive range. We crafted a stunning kitchen island and curved breakfast bar to serve as an undeniable centrepiece, showcasing a harmonious blend of form and function that not only enhances our client’s culinary experience but makes a bold and impressive interior statement.

Additional Choices For Your Unique Space

We possess extensive expertise in designing and creating bespoke kitchens, but it is your personal choices that make the kitchen your own.

With JB Bespoke, there are a host of innovative solutions available, from internal cabinet fittings, and custom-made inserts for cutlery and utensils, to tailored pantry fitments, every single detail is tailored specifically to your needs. These personal touches can significantly enhance a kitchen by adding character, functionality, and a sense of ownership.

Our handcrafted pantries are more than just storage solutions—they are a seamless blend of artistry and functionality, with each pantry meticulously designed to complement your kitchen’s unique aesthetic, making them one-of-a-kind. Unlike mass-produced options, our pantries are customised to fit your specific needs and can be integrated seamlessly into your design, maximising space and contributing to the overall style.

Building a bespoke kitchen from scratch places real emphasis on artistry, and when you invest in a JB Bespoke kitchen, our experienced team ensures your kitchen is installed with the utmost attention to detail. Do Jones Britain only cover Tunbridge Wells?

“Do Jones Britain only cover Tunbridge Wells?”

A question we are often asked is ‘what area do we cover’

The simple answer is that we will happily work with clients from any location. Although we are based just outside Royal Tunbridge wells and have plenty of clients in and around the Tunbridge wells area we will work with anyone anywhere. Our furthest afield work has been the south of France and we have done work deep into Cornwall too. It’s safe to say though that most of or work is within a 20 mile radius of Tunbridge Wells

A kitchen we installed recently just outside Tunbridge Wells

Working further afield does make things harder. It’s very difficult to get a plasterer to travel 4-5 hours to go and plaster a room or sending a plumber that distance just to tighten a loose tap however our fitters are used to working away from home and if a project is more than a couple of hours away then we’d normally allow a costing for accommodation within the project figures.

We’ve done quite a lot of work in Wiltshire, for example. Our fitters stay in an AirB&B which allows them to still be on site at 8am in the morning and they tend to work longer hours and complete the project in less time.

For those customer more local to us here’s a list of towns and villages that we regularly work in:

  • Tunbridge Wells
  • Crowborough
  • Groombridge
  • Tonbridge
  • Sevenoaks
  • East Grinstead
  • Forest Row
  • Mayfield
  • Wadhurst
  • Ticehurst
  • Cranbrook
  • Benenden
  • Heathfield

Here’s a kitchen we fitted in Billingshurst which is further afield.

Our showroom is in Groombridge so we do find ourselves in some of the smaller villages around us like:

  • Penshurst
  • Withyham
  • Cowden
  • Ashurstwood
  • Chelwood Gate
  • Firwarp
  • Maresfield
  • Buxted
  • Rotherfield
  • Hadlow Down
  • Mark Cross
  • Bells Yew Green
  • Matfield
  • Horsmonden
  • Marden
  • Yalding
  • Hadlow
  • Ightham
  • Knockholt
  • Edenbridge

If you’re thinking of starting a new kitchen project and want to discuss your options with a multi award winning designer, then just pick up the phone and give Dan a call. He’d be happy to chat with you and make your journey easier.

Bespoke Kitchens East Sussex

A bespoke kitchen is an ideal way to ensure that you receive a kitchen which meets all of your individual needs and requirements. With an endless choice of designs, functions, shapes and configurations, you can let your imagination run free, for a beautiful and practical kitchen. Here at Jones Britain East Sussex, we are proud to provide our customers with the finest truly bespoke kitchens for their homes.

You may find that many kitchen sellers promote high-end, bespoke kitchens but a great number of them are not truly bespoke. A common misconception is that if you can choose your own materials, colours and cabinets, then the kitchen is bespoke.  This is not the case and for a kitchen to be truly bespoke, it needs to be made specially to order from scratch. All of the customer’s needs and requirements are taken into consideration and personal designs, measurements, shapes, materials, fittings and finishes are chosen by the customer.

Benefits of a Bespoke Kitchen

Bespoke kitchens are not only stylish and beautiful but they are also highly practical as they are tailored to a customer’s personal needs. A bespoke kitchen gives you plenty of flexibility as there are extensive choices for each element of your kitchen. This gives you a lot of freedom to experiment with your design. Many store-bought kitchens are limited in shapes, sizes and designs so your choices are further reduced. This may leave you feeling disappointed and left with a kitchen which will not meet your personal requirements. Ready-made kitchens may also include problems when it comes to the installation, this is because the measurements are not exact and it can leave your kitchen looking uneven and tacky. With a bespoke kitchen, shapes, sizes and configurations are no longer a problem as they are designed with all of your personal measurements and configurations. At Jones Britain East Sussex, our team of highly skilled craftsmen will craft your kitchen with precision, and close attention to detail so that your kitchen will fit perfectly.

Bespoke kitchens are known for their strength, durability and longevity. This is because a bespoke kitchen is only made with the finest, high-quality materials and fittings. The combination of expert precision craftsmanship and high-grade materials is what makes a bespoke kitchen built to last for many years of enjoyment.

Whether you prefer traditional, modern or contemporary kitchen styles, Jones Britain East Sussex can help you to plan and design your perfect kitchen so the final result is stunning and flawless.

We routinely test and inspect each part of your kitchen before any installation begins to ensure the highest standards have been met, giving you a kitchen which is strong, durable and will look as good as new in years to come.

If you would like to know more about our beautiful bespoke kitchens, please do not hesitate to contact us here at Jones Britain East Sussex. We will happy to help you get started on your kitchen project and give you expert advice to any queries you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.

Kitchen Islands

A kitchen island is highly practical and can become a beautiful feature within your home. Not only are they used for cooking and food preparation, but they can also be used as a seating area and a place to store your kitchen items. A kitchen island is the central focus point within your kitchen. It brings people together and gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to designing your ideal kitchen. Here at Jones Britain East Sussex & Kent, we are proud of our ability to provide you with a stunning kitchen island which is tailored specifically to you. Our handy design service allows you to choose your own measurements, shapes, styles, materials, colours, countertops and storage options for your kitchen island. This enables you to truly personalise your kitchen to suit all of your individual needs and requirements. Our team of highly skilled designers and craftsmen will work closely with you to produce a kitchen island which is strong, beautiful and practical.

Why Choose a Kitchen Island?

There are many key benefits of a kitchen island which will help to make your life easier and make your kitchen more efficient.

Space

Kitchen islands can help to create more space within your kitchen and optimise the available space you already have. With an endless choice of storage solutions, a kitchen island can help to store or hide away all of your kitchen items for a clutter-free environment. With many different features such as drawers, deep drawers, shelving and cabinets, you can easily store your belongings away. You can also choose to have your appliances integrated into your kitchen island such as cooktops, ovens, warming drawers and microwaves etc.

Additional Seating

A kitchen island can act as an additional seating area for your family and guests, it is a perfect way for large families to gather around a central dining area and keep them in view whilst cooking. Compared to a dining table, a kitchen island is stronger and sturdier, meaning there will be fewer accidents from the table being tipped or nudged.

Versatile

A kitchen island is extremely versatile and can be crafted in a wide range of different materials, worktop surfaces, finishes and colours. This gives you plenty of freedom and flexibility to experiment with your design which enables you to truly personalise your kitchen so that it meets your individual needs and tastes.

Appliances

Kitchen islands are a great way to add extra appliances to your kitchen. Additional ovens, fridges, freezers, range hoods and microwaves etc can be extremely practical and are a must-have for avid cooks and busy families.

At Jones Britain, we can create your kitchen island in any size, shape or design you require. No two kitchen islands are the same and your individual choices will make it unique. We work closely with you to gather all of your ideas and determine your needs so you can enjoy a beautiful bespoke kitchen island which is tailored to you. Your kitchen island can be designed as a cooking only area, seating area, storage place or designed to run parallel with other worktops for an efficient running kitchen. With an extensive range of colours, materials and finishes, you will have plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to designing your ideal kitchen island.

Using only the finest materials, our team of highly skilled designers and craftsmen ensure your kitchen island is high in quality, strong and durable. With a close eye for fine detail and precision craftsmanship, your kitchen island will be created exactly how you want it and we aim to fulfil even the smallest of details.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Ultraline Doors. A 20mm Incredible Minimal Frame!

It’s not often that we are prepared to recommend a product that we don’t actually sell but having worked with Ultraline sliding doors on a recent project we can’t speak highly enough of them.

Having helped our client source a good quality sliding door product there isn’t a huge amount of information we now don’t know about sliding doors. Ultraline came up trumps! their security, thermal properties and 20mm sightline were the best we could find and the service from the factory and production office were second to none giving us advice prior to installation that was invaluable.

They are not the cheapest on the market but in turn we really felt they were value for money and they look absolutely superb in situ.

Although they are base near Birmingham they do cover the country and they had a team of highly competent fitters who came to site and installed in a relatively short period of time. They were manufactured in 5 weeks which is a lot shorter than other companies had quoted.

Installation day came and our builders were ready for the Ultraline sliding doors to turn up. The doors had been made floor to ceiling and so they were very large panes of glass. 3 sets of doors each having 2 sheets spanning around 4 metres total length for each door. This seemed to be no trouble for the installation team and within an hour the glass doors had been fitted.

We were especially impressed with the locking system. As the doors are minimal frame there is no room for a lock. Instead the locking system is hidden in the top frame with a bolt that drops into place at the press of a sensor button connected to the cables that our electrician had installed.

Once the doors were fitted we were able to plaster in the framework giving the impression of the whole outer frame only being 20mm thick.

The whole kitchen extension project is heading towards completion and we’ll soon be able to post photo in all its glory but for now here are a couple of photos to wet your appetite.

If you are interested in finding out more information about Ultraline sliding doors from our recommendation please contact them at the details below.

Miele’s Vacuum Drawer

The versatile built-in vacuuming drawer

Perfect conditions for the storage of food or for the preparation of tasty sous-vide cooking. The new vacuuming drawer impresses with its wide range of applications. What is better than to be able to conjure up meals effortlessly that contain everything that the illustration in the cookery book promises. The basic function of the vacuuming drawer is impressively simple: The air (oxygen in particular) is sucked out of the film bags in which the food items are stored and then they are sealed so that they are airtight. This maintains the quality of food items for a longer period of time. In addition, the vacuuming drawer prepares food optimally for sous-vide cooking. Divide into portions, store and prepare for enjoyable cooking.

Step 1: Suitable bag for vacuum sealing
The appliance comes with the correct plastic bag. You can buy replacements from Jones Britain by contacting us on 01435 866435.

2nd Step: Fill the bag
Fill the bag with any type of food. Be careful not to over-fill the bag.

3rd Step: Insert bag
Open the vacuum-sealing drawer. Place the filled bag in the appliance.

4. Step: To select a setting
You have the choice between 3 vacuum settings. The sealing time can be freely selected from 3 settings.

5. Step: Start vacuum-sealing process
When you close the appliance lid the appliance starts the vacuum-sealing process.

6. Step: Remove air
In the vacuuming process the air is drawn out of the vacuum chamber and the plastic bag.

7. Step: Seal food
At the end of the vacuum-sealing process the food is automatically hermetically sealed.

8. Step: Removing food
Open the lid of the vacuuming drawer and remove the vacuumed food.

9. Step: Vacuum-sealed food
The food is completely vacuum sealed and ready for use at a later date.

The sous-vide cooking method

People who are familiar with the sous-vide cookery method happily accept the longer cooking process. Exceptional pleasure is guaranteed! The advantage lies in the evenness of the cooking, whereby the aim is to achieve a specific core temperature. Overcooked edges are a thing of the past. Flavours do not react with oxygen and food stays moist. Food can also be vacuumed with spices or a marinade. The cooking results can always be reproduced.

Particularly tender meat

Meat is cooked very slowly at constantly low temperatures. It is therefore extremely juicy and tender. Thanks to the gentle cooking process the meat cells relax without losing any of their juices. It is impossible to overcook your food. If you like your meat seared, brown it off quickly either before or after vacuuming.
